About Caprice Music
Re-release in the service of today – Caprice Music puts out earlier productions from their own catalogue, together with material from Statens musikverk’s various collections.
500 Album Titles Across 50 Years
Caprice Music is a record label specializing in classical and contemporary art music, electroacoustic music, jazz, folk and world music, as well as music for children and young adults.
Founded as a record label in 1971, our extensive catalog spans over 500 album titles. The catalog also includes historical recordings, compilations, and composer portraits.
Available Wherever You Listen to Music
Today, we focus on re-releases to make music accessible on the platforms and in the formats that are popular among our listeners. Our releases include exclusive LP editions, digital albums, and podcasts that offer fresh perspectives on the music and its historical context.
We also produce new works linked to cultural heritage and previously unreleased materials from cultural heritage collections. Caprice Music is part of Statens musikverk – National Collections of Music, Theatre and Dance.
Award-Winning Releases and Collaborations
Most of our music features Swedish artists, musicians, and composers, but we also represent music from around the world.
Our notable releases include the acclaimed series Svensk Jazzhistoria (Swedish Jazz History), Áššogáttis – By the Embers by Sofia Jannok, Organic Music Society by Don Cherry, the world music series Music From, Karl-Birger Blomdahl’s opera Aniara, and Oddjob’s Grammy-winning Folk.
